SS-31

SS-31, referred to in much of the literature as elamipretide, is a synthetic tetrapeptide built on an alternating aromatic-cationic sequence. That arrangement is what allows it to cross cell membranes without a dedicated transporter and to concentrate in the inner mitochondrial membrane, where it associates with the phospholipid cardiolipin rather than distributing evenly through the cell.

It ships as a lyophilised powder in a sealed glass vial, supplied in 10 mg and 50 mg presentations. Each lot carries a Certificate of Analysis documenting compound identity and purity. Supplied as a laboratory reference material for research use only, and not for human or veterinary use.
