What it is
NAD+, or nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, is not a peptide but a dinucleotide coenzyme, and one of the most fundamental molecules in cellular biochemistry. It consists of nicotinamide and adenine nucleotides joined through their phosphate groups, and it cycles between oxidised (NAD+) and reduced (NADH) states as it shuttles electrons between metabolic reactions.
It ships as a lyophilised powder in a sealed glass vial, available in 500 mg and 1000 mg presentations. Each lot carries a Certificate of Analysis recording identity and purity. Supplied as a laboratory reference material for research use only, and not for human or veterinary use.
What the research explores
NAD+ sits at the intersection of energy metabolism and enzymatic signalling, which is why it recurs across so many research areas. Investigated topics include:
- The NAD+/NADH ratio as a readout of cellular redox state in cultured cells
- NAD+ as a required substrate for sirtuin deacetylases and PARP enzymes
- Salvage-pathway enzymology, particularly NAMPT-mediated regeneration from nicotinamide
- Compartment-specific nucleotide pools across cytosol, nucleus and mitochondria
- Analytical methods for quantifying nucleotide pools in cell and tissue lysates
These are areas of biochemical investigation described in the literature. Elements DNA makes no health, longevity or physiological claim of any kind and supplies this material for laboratory research use only.
Questions
How should the vial be stored?
Keep the sealed vial cool, dry and out of direct light before opening. Once in solution, store refrigerated and treat it as short-lived. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, which degrade the coenzyme.
How is the powder brought into solution?
Solvent is normally added slowly down the inside wall of the vial and dissolved by gentle swirling. Solvent choice, working concentration and protocol are determined by the researcher. We do not provide dosing or administration guidance of any kind.
What does the Certificate of Analysis cover?
The batch COA documents compound identity and chromatographic purity for the lot you receive, along with its lot identifier and test date. It characterises the material as supplied and is not a clinical or regulatory approval.
What arrives in the shipment?
One sealed glass vial of lyophilised powder in the size selected, protectively packaged and labelled with its batch identifier. Solvent and laboratory consumables are not included.
Which lot is NAD+'s published certificate for?
Lot 1500-501, measured 99.99% by HPLC, tested Jun 30, 2026, by Pacific Coast Biologics Inc. The full certificate, including the laboratory's own assay rows, is published at /coa/HX2OFHO7HR.
