What it is
GHK-Cu is the copper(II) complex of glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine, a tripeptide first isolated from human plasma. The copper sits in a square-planar coordination site assembled from the histidine imidazole, the terminal amine and backbone nitrogens — an affinity high enough that the complex, not the free peptide, is the species most of the literature actually studies. The blue colour of the solution comes from that copper centre.
This item ships already in solution: 100 mg of GHK-Cu in a sterile isotonic saline base, filled to 30 ml in a sealed bottle with a metered pump rated at approximately 120 actuations. Copper complexes are light- and oxidation-sensitive, so the bottle stays sealed and cold. Supplied for laboratory research use only.
What the research explores
GHK-Cu is studied primarily as coordination chemistry and as a cell-culture reagent. Reported areas include:
- Copper binding and transfer — stability constants of the complex and exchange with cellular copper ligands such as albumin and metallothionein.
- Matrix protein expression — collagen and glycosaminoglycan synthesis readouts in fibroblast culture.
- Gene-expression profiling in dermal cell models, where the complex is applied as an in vitro test condition.
- Redox chemistry — copper as a cofactor in superoxide dismutase and related enzymes.
- Complex stability in aqueous formulation over time.
These are in vitro and model-system findings. We make no claim about effects in people.
Questions
How should the bottle be stored?
Refrigerated, sealed and out of direct light. Copper complexes are sensitive to light and oxidation, and this format is already in solution.
Why does the solution look blue?
That is the copper(II) centre. The colour is a property of the complex itself, not an added dye, and a marked colour change is worth investigating before use.
What does the Certificate of Analysis cover?
Identity and purity for the batch, tied to the lot on the bottle. It is a characterization document, not a clearance for any application.
What arrives in the box?
One sealed 30 ml bottle with its metered pump, labelled with compound and lot. Research use only.
Which lot is GHK-Cu Nasal Spray's published certificate for?
Lot 1500-501, measured 99.79% by HPLC, tested Jun 29, 2026, by Pacific Coast Biologics Inc. The full certificate, including the laboratory's own assay rows, is published at /coa/8OO7ETGZVT.
