What the research explores

BPC-157 appears in the preclinical literature chiefly as a subject of tissue-repair research. The published work is animal- and cell-model based, and the peptide has no approved application in humans.

Areas investigators have examined:

  • Tendon, ligament and muscle repair models, including fibroblast migration and outgrowth in culture
  • Angiogenesis, with particular attention to VEGFR2 signalling and the nitric oxide system
  • Gastrointestinal mucosal integrity models, the context in which the parent sequence was first characterised
  • Interaction with growth factor and neurotransmitter pathways in rodent studies

Findings across this body of work are preliminary and unevenly replicated. BPC-157 is supplied strictly as a laboratory research material.
