What it is
AOD-9604 is a modified fragment of human growth hormone corresponding to residues 176 to 191 of the C-terminal region, with a tyrosine added at the N-terminus. Because it reproduces only a short segment of the parent hormone rather than the full 191-residue chain, researchers use it to separate the behaviour of that fragment from the receptor activity of the intact protein.
The peptide ships as a lyophilised powder in a sealed glass vial in a 10 mg presentation. Each lot carries a Certificate of Analysis covering identity and purity. Supplied for laboratory research use only, and not for human or veterinary use.
What the research explores
Interest in AOD-9604 stems from a structural question: which activities of growth hormone are carried by the C-terminal fragment, and which require the intact protein. Published preclinical work explores:
- Lipid-metabolism signalling in isolated adipocyte and cell-culture systems
- Comparison of fragment behaviour against full-length growth hormone at the GH receptor
- Whether the fragment acts through pathways independent of the GH receptor
- Stability and degradation profiles of the shortened sequence relative to the parent hormone
These describe laboratory research topics, not outcomes. Elements DNA makes no claim regarding effects in humans or animals and supplies this material exclusively for in vitro and preclinical use.
Questions
How should the vial be stored?
Keep the sealed vial cool, dry and shielded from light before opening. After reconstitution, store refrigerated and treat the solution as short-lived. Repeated freeze-thaw cycles degrade peptide integrity.
How is the lyophilised powder reconstituted?
Solvent is normally added slowly down the inside wall of the vial, then dissolved by gentle swirling rather than shaking. Solvent, concentration and protocol are the researcher's decision. We do not provide dosing or administration guidance.
What does the Certificate of Analysis cover?
The batch COA records compound identity and chromatographic purity for the lot shipped to you, alongside the lot identifier and test date. It is a laboratory characterisation document rather than any form of approval.
What arrives in the shipment?
One sealed 10 mg glass vial of lyophilised powder, protectively packaged and labelled with its batch identifier. Solvent, syringes and other consumables are not included.
