Epitalon

Tetrapeptide (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly), studied in telomerase and pineal research.

8 papers · 2000–2026 · 8 journals

What the research explores

Epitalon is examined within the gerontology and chronobiology literature, most of it originating from a small number of Russian research groups.

Areas of study:

  • Telomerase enzyme activity in cultured human somatic cells
  • Telomere length measurements in those same culture systems
  • Melatonin secretion rhythms and pineal function in animal models
  • Antioxidant and lipid-peroxidation markers in rodents
  • Rodent lifespan studies conducted within the originating programme

Independent replication outside those institutions is limited and the findings should be read as preliminary. Epitalon is supplied as a research material with no approved application in humans.

References

A reference list, not evidence. Inclusion means a paper discusses the compound — not that it supports any use, and not that it describes this product.
